FLEWNT SEVENS ART

Artwork by Flewnt Sevens

“I believe a true work of art has a life and a soul. Human as I am, I can only attempt to create it. I never quite succeed. For true art is not human, but divine. Nevertheless, it is that quest for a masterpiece that makes me who I am. I paint pictures to give hope joy.” -Flewnt Sevens

When most people think of graffiti, they think of outdoor murals and tags created with spray paint. While the streets are the most popular place to write graffiti, the truth is that writing in graffiti can be done with just a writing utensil and blank canvas or recycled material.

Flewnt creates with many sizes and mediums. He was inspired to create a collection of smaller pieces that incorporate all his style and depth. He decided to create the baby collection, which he makes from scratch with recycled wood and materials. They are each raw and unique. Each quality piece employs two or three dimensions and multiple colors. In many cases, 10 or more layers of paints are used to complete a piece. Flewnt believes ART outlives it creator and functions like a DNA sample which identifies the artist and expresses his message.

Green Denim Initiative loves Flewnt Sevens’s artwork – especially the denim pieces, located just down the street from us in Venice Beach! Contact Flewnt@gmail.com for your own Flewnt Sevens custom piece!

UNIQUE LA

Green Denim Initiative highly recommends you go now and check out UNIQUE LA, and amazing event going on this weekend, July 30th and 31st, in Santa Monica at the Barker Hangar! You can go anytime between 11 AM and 6 PM, tickets are $10 at the door, and 10% of the ticket sales go to Heal the Bay – which we love!

UNIQUE LA is the largest independent design show in the country, attendees get the rare chance to meet and shop directly from over 250 hand-selected designers and artists. This exciting two-day shopping event makes it easy for you to buy local and support LA’s economy, discover great design and deals, join in community, and have a blast! Over 95% of the products at the show are proudly made right here in the USA! On top of shopping the wide variety of offerings, the event boasts many exciting perks including free workshops, an eco lounge, and two cafes featuring some of LA’s best restaurants and gourmet food trucks. Perfect way to spend a summer weekend!

The best part of UNIQUE LA, in addition to their emphasis on buying local, is that they are dedicated to giving back to the community. UNIQUE LA partners with a non-profit for every show and donates a portion of sales to the organization. In the past they have partnered with Ed Begley Jr.’s’ GreenWish (which raises awareness and funds for nine local environmental groups including Friends of Los Angeles River, Surfrider Foundation and Algalita), Architecture for Humanity, 826LA, and Create Now.
